Surfing is one of the extreme sports, incredibly popular in the world. The homeland of conquering the waves is considered to be the Hawaiian Islands, where such entertainment was part of the culture and was part of the traditional rituals of the natives.
The art of gliding on the waves
Nowadays surfing is practiced almost everywhere where there are suitable conditions. For this sport you need only waves and a special board for sliding on the water – surf.
In addition to the classic, there are other forms of the sport:
- Wakesurfing – the invention of those who do not have ocean and suitable sea waves. This is riding on the waves, which creates a moving at a speed of about 16 km / h boat.
- Bodyboarding – riding while lying on a board.
- Windsurfing – riding on a board with a sail. Speed is developed by wind power, even a weak wind is good for this species.
- Kitesurfing – sliding through the water is due to the pull of the kite, which is held by an athlete.
